Fanfare for the Infinite was commissioned by Del Hubers for the Brandon Valley School District (SD) Beginning Bands. This dynamic fanfare celebrates the boundless potential of first-year band students, pairing that idea of “infinite potential” with the vast, ever-expanding universe.

To reflect both a sense of possibility and cosmic wonder, I included a gentle nod to one of my favorite works: Jupiter from The Planets by Gustav Holst. Though only a small melodic fragment appears, it’s just enough for those who know the piece to catch the playful reference.

It is my hope that this work features the woodwind, brass, and percussion sections equally, and that students and audiences alike enjoy the journey.
